It now seems to me that hood latches (straps) should be made out of metal instead of plastic. Especially 100 miles from home driving against a strong Kansas cross-wind. An approaching semitrailer caused a wind current that broke one of the latches and left my hood flapping in the wind on the driver's side. I turned around and headed back 20 miles to the last city I had passed and pulled into a Chrysler dealership,
Midway Motors in McPherson. They got me right in and back on my way in a little over an hour. Although I will now worry about the durability of plastic straps, I was very pleased with my Chrysler experience in a different city.
