Christmas Accessories

He always gets me the best gifts for Christmas.  This time a rear tire mounted bicycle rack from Quadratech.  For several years I've had to pile my bicycle on top of all my camping gear in the back and it didn't always fit very well.  Sometimes requiring two trips loads so this will be perfect for my summer plans.  The t-shirt came from ATJ.

Oh, Christmas Tree!

It's good to have the option of hauling just about everything I need to.  This time, a trip to Lowe's for holiday greenery and a Christmas tree that I let hang out of the top back window.

Running Wild in Dallas

ROAD TRIP!! Mom and I spent a weekend visiting a cousin who lives in downtown Dallas. That skyline is always exciting to me.

It All Started With a Jeep Ride

Here we go again! I'm back in Washington State for a road trip with my BFF, Laura!

Bluegrass Camping

I spent four nights camping out of the back of my Jeep.  Notice the nice ambiance a battery powered candle chandelier makes hanging from my tent? The kids sure enjoyed it, too.  I did have one rain filled, chilly night but I was high, dry and comfy in the back listening to the rain and music as I knitted by a lantern light.  It was another wonderful music filled weekend.

Resale Value

My dealership called to convince me to purchase a new Jeep and guaranteed to lower my current payment.  But there's no way I'm parting with my Edy.  Sure, I could switch out my wheels and special options but I just get too attached and content with my own things to the point they have their own identity.  It's good to know she's keeping her value - another reason to love the Jeep brand.

Envy This in CO

While riding my Harley around Colorado Springs and Manitou Springs was enjoyable, I couldn't help but notice all the Jeeps.  Most with the tops and doors off proving there's so much to be envious of in the colorful state of Colorado.

Turnbuckles

I've been worried about the durability of the stock plastic hood latches.  My hood still rattled around in high winds.  It just makes me nervous so we looked around at the options and found a more secure billet aluminum and stainless steel alternative from Quadratech here.  Easy to install and now there's no more hood flapping in the wind and they look sporty too.

Stickers

I really don't like to put stickers on my o|||||||o but this one will admit us into all the Kansas state parks for a full year so there it is on my window. 

Happiness is...

Happiness is when one of my besties gets a Jeep, too.  I hooked up with my best riding friend, Melanie, for dinner and she pulls up in a dark green Wrangler Sport.  Twenty years ago she influenced me to get a Harley of my own so now we can ride around in our Jeeps together too.  Happy, happy!

Austin Bound

It was a girls only road trip weekend full of antiques, country music and a car show in Texas.  But on the way, Mom and I stopped into Miranda Lambert's boutique in Tishomingo, Oklahoma for some retail therapy.

Once we got to Austin and checked into our hotel, the first stop we made was to a full service car wash.  It may be a Jeep Thing, but I just can't run around in a dirty ride.  She had to be clean for the Kenny Chesney concert and Lonestar Car show.  Good times on the road with my momma!

Snow Record

It's been a snowy month - so much that Wichita set a new snowfall record at 21.2 inches for February.  You know I had to get out early when there wasn't much traffic and 4 wheel around in it. Snow happiness!

2 Years

Two years ago I got my o|||||||o and it's still true love.  I have about 27K miles on her now and there's still no other automobile in the world I would rather own.

Proud

Jeep honored our returning military with a SuperBowl half-time commercial. It makes me proud.

Wish List

Whoa, baby! The new Jeep truck concept, Gladiator, stopped me in my tracks with desire. I have eyes for no other than my Edy, but now I'm thinking we need to be a two Jeep household. Once released, I'm certain it's going to be wildly popular.

Plastic Hood Straps

It now seems to me that hood latches (straps) should be made out of metal instead of plastic. Especially 100 miles from home driving against a strong Kansas cross-wind. An approaching semitrailer caused a wind current that broke one of the latches and left my hood flapping in the wind on the driver's side. I turned around and headed back 20 miles to the last city I had passed and pulled into a Chrysler dealership, Midway Motors in McPherson. They got me right in and back on my way in a little over an hour. Although I will now worry about the durability of plastic straps, I was very pleased with my Chrysler experience in a different city.
