He always gets me the best gifts for Christmas. This time a rear tire mounted bicycle rack from Quadratech. For several years I've had to pile my bicycle on top of all my camping gear in the back and it didn't always fit very well. Sometimes requiring two trips loads so this will be perfect for my summer plans. The t-shirt came from ATJ.

A Peek in my Stocking
He said it was okay to peek into my stocking and this is what I found. It's a water bottle from ATJ. That means there could be many more ATJ

In Good Company
Best Compact SUV/Crossover (Kelly Blue Book)
2014 Jeep Wrangler
Available with two doors or in extended length with four doors as the Unlimited model, the 2014 Jeep Wrangler is ready for adventure right out the gate with standard 4-wheel drive and a stout 285-horsepower 3.6-liter V6 engine. The Wrangler is also one of the few remaining SUVs that can be had with a manual transmission for those who want ultimate control.
Priced at just over $23,000 for a basic model to around $40,000 for a loaded Wrangler Unlimited Rubicon X, Jeep's go-anywhere vehicle fits a variety of budgets, from collegians who'd rather be camping to empty-nesters ready to see the world in a whole new way. The beauty of the Wrangler is that it can go where most other vehicles can't. So while the Jeep Wrangler will do the job shuffling you around the city with attitude, its true character surfaces in the wild. With a sturdy frame, generous ground clearance and available hard-core off-road features like locking differentials, the Wrangler can take you to amazing new places, with or without the roof, door panels or even windshield in place.
The Wrangler is built to provide years of such enjoyment, and will put a smile on your face even when it's time to part, thanks to a fabulous resale value.

It All Started With a Jeep Ride
Here we go again! I'm back in Washington State for a road trip with my BFF, Laura!
Taking off for a camping weekend.
Oh, my, how I LOVE THIS LIFE!! Heading to the mountains!
We make it to the campsite for several nights where time stands still.
Loaded up to go tubing down the river! That's Dr. Dan at the wheel.
My cup runneth over!
Leaving and wishing I could do it all over again.
A new key chain that says it all.
Forever Jeep.

Bluegrass Camping
I spent four nights camping out of the back of my Jeep. Notice the nice ambiance a battery powered candle chandelier makes hanging from my tent? The kids sure enjoyed it, too. I did have one rain filled, chilly night but I was high, dry and comfy in the back listening to the rain and music as I knitted by a lantern light. It was another wonderful music filled weekend.

Resale Value
My dealership called to convince me to purchase a new Jeep and guaranteed to lower my current payment. But there's no way I'm parting with my Edy. Sure, I could switch out my wheels and special options but I just get too attached and content with my own things to the point they have their own identity. It's good to know she's keeping her value - another reason to love the Jeep brand.

Turnbuckles
I've been worried about the durability of the stock plastic hood latches. My hood still rattled around in high winds. It just makes me nervous so we looked around at the options and found a more secure billet aluminum and stainless steel alternative from Quadratech here. Easy to install and now there's no more hood flapping in the wind and they look sporty too.

Austin Bound
It was a girls only road trip weekend full of antiques, country music and a car show in Texas. But on the way, Mom and I stopped into Miranda Lambert's boutique in Tishomingo, Oklahoma for some retail therapy.

Proud
Jeep honored our returning military with a SuperBowl half-time commercial. It makes me proud.

Plastic Hood Straps
It now seems to me that hood latches (straps) should be made out of metal instead of plastic. Especially 100 miles from home driving against a strong Kansas cross-wind. An approaching semitrailer caused a wind current that broke one of the latches and left my hood flapping in the wind on the driver's side. I turned around and headed back 20 miles to the last city I had passed and pulled into a Chrysler dealership, Midway Motors in McPherson. They got me right in and back on my way in a little over an hour. Although I will now worry about the durability of plastic straps, I was very pleased with my Chrysler experience in a different city.
