Dog Days of Summer

A weekend at the lake turned out to be all about the dog. I took Sheba on a sunrise walk around the campground, we swam together, sat by the fire and slept quite comfortably in the back of Edy. Life really is good!

A New Cool

Check out the cool new spokesperson for the Jeep brand. As if Lenny could get any cooler, we find that he's had the same Jeep for 16 years and he too leads a no holds barred adventurous approach to life. I'm gonna get that album, for sure...Peace.Love.

Sportz Tent Review

A couple of my girlfriends joined me for what I called a "trial run" in my new Sportz tent I ordered from Gander Mountain. We set up at El Dorado Lake on an overcast and cold day facing away from the wind. The tent is huge with the main room 7 foot tall and 10 x 10 wide. There's a sunroom (detachable) that didn't get any use on this trip but will be perfect on hot, breezy days. There's an elastic sleeve that wraps around the back of my olllllllo that adds my sleeping room and what we called the Penthouse. And if that's not enough, the flap in front unzips to make an awning. It's roomy but cozy, functional and all the giddy fun and adventure I thought it would be.

Toy Box

I keep finding more things to love about my olllllllo. Like the fact that my golf bag can stand upright in the back (w/o the driver) with a bungie cord around the roll bar to keep it in place.

Envy

I'm happy with mine but this one borders on envy. If I didn't have a professional job, I sure would have mine lifted with big tires too. This one is sweet.

Big Baby

Big Baby went for a couple of rides this weekend. She's pretty calm until she sees another dog and then just goes bezerk. The most memorable time was going through Dairy Queen drive-thru and they gave her a small cup of soft serve ice cream. I'll never be able to leave the house alone again.

Long Way Home

A warm 83 degree morning running errands with the tops off of the olllllllo had me taking the long way home. I find myself thinking, "Where have you been all my life, Edy." It's true love.

First Road Trip: Texas

Can I get a YEEHAW!?! Mom and I took off for the weekend for my first road trip with Edy and we got to try out the air mattress by spending the first night in a campground in Canton, Texas for the 1st Monday Trade Days weekend. We had a prime parking spot and woke to the sun rising from the back of my ollllllllo. Although it was chilly in the morning, we were very comfortable sleeping in the back.



We walked around the flea market until we couldn't take another step and then headed towards my family's place on Cedar Creek Lake for a night of bullets, bows, BBQ, bonfire & beer. It was a 980 mile weekend packed with fun and adventure - Texas style!

Sportz Air Mattress

I'm so excited about this air mattress designed to fit the in the back of my olllllllo. It's cold outside right now, but as I'm testing it out while listening to the radio in the driveway I'm thinking about how useful it will be this summer:

Her Name is Edy

The Sedgwick County tag office has named my olllllllo. I'm using the last 3 alpha's on the issued license plate. I needed a name and I think it's cute so her name is now "Edy".

Seat Armour

The first ordered item for my olllllllo is a seat towel for my other Jeep dog, Sheba. This washable Mopar licensed terry towel [HINT: I'm wearing it] fits over the headrest and should protect my passenger seat from dirt and dog hair. A must for all dog lovers.

Seat Belt Strap

Trying out a new strap that attaches to the seatbelt and Sassie's collar or harness. What a change from having her trying to climb on my lap and jump out at every opportunity...it works great and makes our trip to the vet a more pleasant outting for the both of us. Happy Dog!

Where the Adventure Begins

Valentine Jeep

Forget roses and candy! Our timing to get me a new vehicle fell right in line with Valentine's Day. I knew I wanted a Jeep Wrangler Unlimited and then had to make a choice between several different packages. At first, I thought I wanted a basic black Rubicon, switched to the Black Ops, walked into Steven Chrysler and there sat the Jeep Sport of my dreams. It didn't have auto locks/windows so they ordered another one, dressed it out with the dealership chrome package, custom wheels and smooth riding all-terrain tires and now she's ALL MINE! It was the best car buying experience we've ever had. Not once did we feel we were being hustled, they worked within our offer and exceeded every expectation we had. My Inspiration

My obsession with owning a Jeep started with a visit to my high school BFF, Laura, in Washington. Riding around with her for several days in her Rubicon and one magical, cool day driving to Mt. Rainier had me hooked. For me here in Kansas, there are no mountains to climb but still plenty of adventure to be found.
