Osage Hills State Park

We loaded up the Jeep with firewood, camping supplies and Molly. It was her first road trip weekend to my family reunion in Osage Hills State Park in Bartlesville, OK. When I was a kid, my grandfather was a park ranger here and now it's a nostalgic annual fall destination full of adventure -- for all of us.

Winfield Campout

I had no problem setting up my tent by myself along the Walnut River here at the Walnut Valley Bluegrass Festival in Winfield, KS. It has rained all weekend which pretty much sucks for camping but I have stayed high and dry sleeping in the back of Edy. I just love my set up. The lows at night have been in the 50's but I'm almost too warm zipped up inside of my mummy sleeping bag.

I brought along a few luxury items this time to my campsite including a classy chandellier for inside of my tent (although there's no electricity) and a new ProBoil propane cooking system that works great for heating up water quickly for coffee, oatmeal, udon noodles (with prepared meatballs) making camplife complete and that much more enjoyable.






Although I love my tent, I still have a strong desire to own a "canned ham" retro camper like this one. It's adorable and if I had one it would be decked out in a Coronaville Cowgirl theme, for sure. Next year I will be sure to bring my bicycle as everyone rides around from campsite to campsite, to the stages scattered around and to the showers.


Note to self: I need to get myself a hitch bicycle rack.

Car Show

The 2nd annual Blacktop Nationals car show was in downtown this weekend. Made for a good picnic in the front of my office over lunch on Friday and a bicycle riding destination on Saturday. Several 1970's Jeeps were on display including this cool crawler. Makes me kinda want some mudders.

Car Wash

While I have to hold 9 week old Molly in my arms at the car wash while spraying off my Jeep, when I get home she's more than happy to help dry it off. Too cute.

Molly

My new 8 week old boxer pup, Molly, went for her first ride today. She didn't really care to sit alone in the passenger seat, instead went from my lap to crawling up to lay on my shoulders. She's so tiny now, it's hard to believe one day she eventually fill the passenger seat.

Living My Fortune

I Had Company

We had a stray around the house for the weekend until I found her owner. Her name is Sasha but I called her Molly and fell in love with her instantly. She had a little weekend Jeep adventure and I secretly hope she can jump the fence again for another visit.

A Top Hoist

OMG!!! I am married to the best man ever who will surprise me by installing a top hoist in our garage while I'm away on vacation. He sent me some text messages with the pics and I about lost my mind with excitement. I really like the look of Edy totally topless just like this -- and look how clean she is!

Island Treasure

While visiting my aunt who lives on Sauvie Island outside of Portland we took a tour of a local herbary where I caught sight of an oldie that probably hasn't seen the road in quite awhile.

Construction Zones

Who says a highway full of dead stop construction zones are a drag? Jeep girls love to find any opportunity to sunbathe, sing to the radio and eat some good snacks while everyone else suffers along in a car. It's all good!

Portland Bound

Our weekend at the beach eventually came to an end. We had an amazing time and Laura's dropping me off in Portland so that I can visit with family for the remainder of my vacation week. Thanks for the beautiful Highway 101 Jeep adventure, Laura!

Jeep Girls Gone Coastal

Road Trip!!

Laura and I are heading for the Oregon Coast. Watch out Cannon Beach - we're coming your way and we're bringing a Jeep dog (Molly) along for the ride.

To the Mountain

Laura, Dan and I loaded up in her Rubi and drove up to Crystal Mountain Resort for dinner. We had the tops off and the rock tunes blaring all the way up to the base at 4,400'. The gondola took us to the summit at 6,872' where we had a breath taking snow covered view of Mt. Rainier hovering above at 14,410'.

Back in Washington

Toto, I don't think I'm in Kansas anymore! I'm back in Washington for the holiday weekend visiting with my inspiration and best Jeep bud, Laura. She's smoke'n hot with her Rubi. Work it, Laura, you are super sporty cute!

Dog Days of Summer

A weekend at the lake turned out to be all about the dog. I took Sheba on a sunrise walk around the campground, we swam together, sat by the fire and slept quite comfortably in the back of Edy. Life really is good!

Rare Truck

You don't see a Jeep truck very often. The body had a little rust bubbling up but it was in pretty good condition and a sight to see.

A New Cool

Check out the cool new spokesperson for the Jeep brand. As if Lenny could get any cooler, we find that he's had the same Jeep for 16 years and he too leads a no holds barred adventurous approach to life. I'm gonna get that album, for sure...Peace.Love.

Sportz Tent Review

A couple of my girlfriends joined me for what I called a "trial run" in my new Sportz tent I ordered from Gander Mountain. We set up at El Dorado Lake on an overcast and cold day facing away from the wind. The tent is huge with the main room 7 foot tall and 10 x 10 wide. There's a sunroom (detachable) that didn't get any use on this trip but will be perfect on hot, breezy days. There's an elastic sleeve that wraps around the back of my olllllllo that adds my sleeping room and what we called the Penthouse. And if that's not enough, the flap in front unzips to make an awning. It's roomy but cozy, functional and all the giddy fun and adventure I thought it would be.

Toy Box

I keep finding more things to love about my olllllllo. Like the fact that my golf bag can stand upright in the back (w/o the driver) with a bungie cord around the roll bar to keep it in place.
